Job Purpose/ Job Description:

The IT Support Technician is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to users within the organization. They will play a crucial role in maintaining the IT infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of technology systems. The IT Support Technician will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and support IT projects, while also delivering high-quality customer service to internal users.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person to resolve hardware, software, or network-related issues.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems related to computer hardware, software applications, operating systems, and network connectivity.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware, software, and peripherals, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
  • Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in various systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Assist in the maintenance and management of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Perform regular system updates, backups, and security checks to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
  • Respond to and resolve IT-related service requests in a timely manner, adhering to defined service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides and knowledge base articles.
  • Assist in the procurement and inventory management of IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Stay informed about the latest technology trends and best practices in the IT support industry.
  • Provide IT training and guidance to users on various software applications and tools.
  • Participate in IT projects and initiatives, contributing to the successful implementation of new technologies and processes.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and escalate problems as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as an IT Support Technician or in a similar technical support role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, software applications, and network concepts.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues on Windows and/or Mac systems. Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suite, and other common business applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
